Man charged with killing wife arrested at traffic stop in Robeson County, deputies say

Robeson Co. deputies arrest man they say shot & killed woman

Authorities arrested a man on Wednesday they say shot and killed a woman in her home on Sunday in Robeson County.

According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested and charged 38-year-old Scottie Dewayne Tyler with first-degree murder for the shooting death of 36-year-old Lydia Ann Hoyos.

Deputies also charged Tyler with nine counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling.

According to the sheriff’s office, Tyler and Hoyos were in a relationship and had two children.

Deputies received a call of an individual shot around 5:52 a.m. on Sunday in the 100 block of Levi Road in Rowland. When they arrived, they found Hoyos dead inside the home.

After a four-day search, deputies took Tyler into custody after a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Lumberton.
